Egypt: The Time of Pharaohs

draft2_egypt_landing_page_image.jpg

Experience a time when civilization grew along the Nile, pyramids dotted the skyline and people believed gods walked among us.

With interactive displays and more than 300 original artifacts, some an astounding 4,500 years old, this exhibition covers all aspects of ancient Egyptian life, from the emergence of ancient Egyptian civilization along the Nile to the Ptolemaic and Roman eras.

Be among the first in North America to see this staggering exhibition’s priceless ancient artifacts, such as the coffin of Nakht, an exceptional bust of Hatshepsut and an ornate gold and garnet necklace from the Ptolemaic period.

Last year, over 57,000 festival goers converged on the streets of Columbia and Keefer in historic Chinatown to experience the biggest multicultural summer celebration in town. Festival activities included day market, “Historical & Food Tasting Walking tour”, Desjardins Kids corner, multicultural stage performances, Cultural Corner, TD Canadian Talent Showdown, theme related activities and Streetfest.

With this year’s theme, Canada 150! We will have more elements and innovative new programs that will be a feast for the eyes in the festival!

Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival

84336_php5qh6oz_medium.jpg

A celebration. A protest. A party. A place to take up space. An opportunity to don our finest and shiniest. A chance to recognize how far we have come and reflect on where we need to go from here. Ask ten different people and you will receive ten different answers on what the Pride Parade means to them.

Whatever your reason, we invite you and yours to the 2018 Vancouver Pride Parade. We can't wait to see you there!

There are two accessible Pride Parade viewing areas.

The main one is located on the North side of Beach Ave at Broughton. This space features accessible portapotties and a shaded viewing area with chairs and space for mobility devices. ASL interpretation of Parade commentary is provided. Live Description of the Parade for those with vision loss is provided by VocalEye. Volunteers are available to assist you.

A secondary accessible viewing area is located outside of Denman Place Mall. This area features a shaded viewing area with chairs.

More accessibility information will be provided as it is confirmed.
